Red lips are the quintessential staple on the red carpet. Dab on some red lipstick to add glamour to your look when going for a dinner or a ladies night out! Many woman wonder if they can pull off red lipstick.
"What if I look like a clown?"
"What if it gets on my teeth?"
The truth is, a great red lip is easy to pull off with the right tools!
1. Exfoliate
You wouldn't want flaky lips to ruin your whole look! Gently exfoliated your lips to remove dead skin in order for lipstick to go on smoothly. To remove those dead skin, a lip scrub made with olive oil and sugar or even a toothbrush could do a great job on it.
2. Moisten before you apply
Apply a thick layer of lip balm before putting on the rest of your makeup. Wipe a balm off with a tissue after you're done with the makeup. It will leave you with a much softer pout to work with.
3. Use lip liner
Lip liners should be used to outline your outer lips to ensure that your lip colour will retain, even after the lipstick has worn off. Find a lip pencil that matches your lipstick as closely as possible or else it will make your lips look odd.
4. Apply lipstick with a lip brush
This is essential! Use a lip brush to apply your lip colour to ensure a longer wear than applying it straight from the tube itself. Then, take a tissue and dab it between your lips. When the excess has been removed, reapply the shade for maximum colour.
5. Conceal and avoid
The last step is to ensure the lipstick stays in place. Dab a small drop of concealer around your mouth and pull it out slowly using your index finger, making sure to catch any excess lipstick that might ruin your teeth.
Optional: Lip gloss!
If you want the high-shiny, glossy look, apply a clear of lip gloss that complements you lip colour.
Ta-da! You're done!
Perfect lips on the gooooo!
